Diabetes Adrenal Gland

The majority of people suffering from diabetes, especially type 2 diabetes, experience adrenal gland dysfunction. The adrenal glands play a major role when it comes to blood sugar regulation so they can assist in the improvement of people suffering from type 2 diabetes.

The majority of the Orlando Diabetes Project clients do not understand what the adrenal gland does. The adrenal gland is located just above the kidneys and it helps in the regulation of blood sugar in the body. The adrenal gland normally releases some hormones that assist in the release of blood sugar into the bloodstream; one of these hormones is cortisol. The adrenal gland normally releases cortisol when you are asleep because the cortisol assists in the supply of sugar to your brain. This is because you don't eat while asleep and this function must be provided by the adrenal gland for the brain to keep on working throughout the night as it needs enough blood sugar.

Most clients at the Orlando Diabetes Project are fighting with major adrenal fatigue. Enough cortosil to last them through the night is not provided by their bodies. Due to this problem, the majority of the diabetics don't get to sleep soundly through the night. This stresses them and causes increasing pressure on their adrenal gland which in turn results in more adrenal fatigue.

A good number of clients in the Orlando Diabetes Project also fight with very high blood sugar during the morning hours. In most cases they don't know what is causing their blood sugar to be high in the morning despite the fact that they have not consumed any food for many hours. This is normally caused by the adrenal gland. When enough cortisol cannot be generated by the adrenal gland, adrenalin is generated instead which produces huge amount of sugar in the blood and this is what causes the high blood sugar levels experienced in the morning by patients suffering from type 2 diabetes. Many are times people suffering from type 2 diabetes suffer from insomnia, this is because the adrenalin tampers with the body system and interferes with your sleep.
